Chris Rice will talk about life on the fringes in Guatemala City and the work they are doing with children and their families to help reduce the amount of children on the streets.
19th August Combating Poverty through Education
The mission of Safe Passage is to empower the poorest, at-risk children of families working in the community of the Guatemala City garbage dump, by creating opportunities and fostering dignity through the power of education.

Sue, a retired US Foreign Service officer, lives in Antigua, Guatemala. She is a former US Consul General in Guatemala and has served in Chile, Iran and Italy. She is also the founder and Executive Director of WINGS, a non-profit dedicated to reproductive health and family planning. |
